Mental Health Section 3, AN application

Post by VINU93SENU95 » Tue Jan 05, 2016 8:30 pm

Along with my mum ,(she came to UK under TIER 1)in 2013 we got ILR. I am 22 years and going to apply Citizenship application next week by myself. Unfortunately after completion of my degree with 2.1 became ill and treated at mental hospital under section 2 and 3. Presently I am in recovery stage and not in paid work, 2 days volunteering . I am receiving PIP and ESA. Hopefully my doctor will allow me to carry on my master's after next revive.

I have few issues when filling my application:

1) How I fill employment history for last 5 years . Do I need to fill university period ? Last 18 months ,I was not in study OR paid work , Please advice how to fill? where to declare PIP and ESA?

2) Good character section do i need to mention my illness, hope it is not but as I was at hospital under mental health act section 3 ,for 3 weeks , do I need to mention? My Psychiatrist is willing to issue a letter about my present mental stability. Do i need to submit ?

Your reply highly appreciated on this rare and difficult situation.
Kind Regards,
NIHAL

Do you have 5 years residence?

1. You only need to list employment that you have had and the dates your were employed. If you are currently unemployed, it is fine. Employment is not a requirement for citizenship.

2. No, you do not need to mention it.

Focus on the positive, you could mention the volunteering work you do for the community in the 'additional/further information' section of the form if you wish.

It may (or may not) be ignored by the caseworker but it shows what a public-spirited type of citizen you are.

Good luck.

Thanks CROOI and noajathan. Yes I got my ILR in April 2013. As I wasn't well ,delayed my application for citizenship more than 1 year.

One more question, once I drove my car without seat belt very close to my home in inner resident area, unfortunately civil police car followed me and when I parked the car, he checked my licence and told that I haven't put my seat belt. later received a later from Police ,to me to follow seat belt course on line and some fees for that course. I done that and all cleared. DO I NEED TO MENTIONED THIS?

Thankyou,
NIHAL

If this was some sort of official warning it should be mentioned.

I.e. as per HO guidance on these critical matters:

- see Section 3.3
