Uk visa sheffield (Entry clearence visa)

Hi, its been 12 weeks since i received the email stating that my online application has been received in Sheffield, UK. Your application is currently being prepared for consideration by an Entry Clearance Office. Today i recieved a phone call from the Home office asking who do i want the documents sending to myself or my spouse abroad. I said can you send them to me. She also asked for my email address where i think they will send the documents to or to confirm the email address. That is all she asked me, my name and my email address and goodbye she said.

Does anybody have any idea on what these documents are?and why she asked for my email address?which they already had in the application i submitted. Ive waited 24 hours and nothing has yet been sent to the email address i gave her.Cheers

It is for immigration visa for my wife abroad to come over into the uk.

You need to be a bit more precise. There are many different categories of visas for a spouse to come to the UK.

Hi, im applying for her visa for her to come over into the uk. Thats all i know that i can tell you what kind of immigration this is. It has been 12 weeks since i received a email from uk visa sheffield stating that the application had been received and it was being prepared for consideration for the ECO. Hope this helps. You posted in the wrong forum (Tier 1 General), which is why I was trying to establish what exactly you were applying for.

I am quite concerned that you don't even seem to know what visa you/spouse have applied for. I really hope that you know what the requirements are that you have to meet for a spouse visa.

If you apply for a spouse settlement visa, in which country did your spouse apply in?

What documents have you/spouse submitted with the application for the visa?

It is visa settlement. My wife lives in pakistan. Application wAs submitted here to sheffield. She has done her biometrix 14 weeks ago. All documents were submitted that was required for visa application with the help of my solicitor. Cheers

Only the supporting documents should have gone to Sheffield. Your wife was required to submit some paperwork in Pakistan.

So what is your question actually? Are you trying to find out how long it will take or what.

My wife was only required to submit her passport and do her biometrix. My question is that today i recieved a call after 12 weeks from the Home office stating that my application is in process and that where i would like the documents to be sent to. I suggested that they should be sent to me as it is easier. They said ok and took my email address. Could you tell me what documents they are referring to that they will send to me and why did they verify my email address when they already have it? Cheers

They will probably send the supporting documents to you.

Not sure why they checked your email address. Maybe to confirm you are the sponsor.

Supporting documents? are these the documents that i submitted and why would they be sending them back? What does this mean in regards to the status of the application.

The supporting documents are your documents such as :

6 months payslips
6 months bank statements
Proof of accommodation
Employer letter
Contract of employment
Your Passport copies
Marriage certificate
Proof of communication
Wedding photos
Etc

You will only know when your wife collects her passport if the visa has been approved. Supporting documents are always returned.

Im a carer so i am exempt from the financial requirements. Do you have any idea on how long it will now take for the verdict, as it has already just gone over 12 weeks. Thanks

Nobody can say on this site as it isn't an official outlet for UKVI. The best thing you can do is be patient, but I know it is difficult. Documents will always get sent back once application has been processed, it's normal. Still might take a few weeks for the person who has applied to find out if they have got a visa or not.
