Immigration Questions

Post by sdawson35 » Wed Jan 13, 2016 8:27 pm

Hi,

I am hoping someone maybe able to help me with some questions ?.

I came to the U.K in 1988 on a New Zealand passport with an Indefinate Leave to Stay stamp (Scottish Grandparents), I have not been out of the U.K in that time other than for holidays (between 4-5 weeks per year).
I am employed , registered to vote , married to an English citizen and all that good stuff but for the life of me cannot work out what forms I need to fill to gain my citizenship/British passport (I don't want to lose my New Zealand one).

Can anyone provide some guidance ?

Regards.

NZ and UK allow dual citizenship, so no issue there.

You need to apply to naturalise as a British Citizen before you can apply for a British Passport. The fees to naturalise are going up in April so best to do it before then. You also need to do Life in the UK test.

It is, see Form AN January 2016 (click)[/quote]
