Tier 2 Family Visitor Visa

Post by gasman81 » Wed Jan 13, 2016 11:37 pm

Hi. I have a strange problem.
I am in UK on Tier 2. My mother in India is a retired government employee, now working in a private organisation. She needs to come to UK on a visitor visa. Problem is her organisation wont give her the proof of employment letter. She still has to mention she is employed because the bank statements with a balance of 3 lakhs she submits has monthly salary deposits from her organisation.
She has all the other documents including pension letter and pension bank statements.
What are the chances of getting a visitor visa without proof of employment letter?
Please help.

She needs the letter to confirm her employment and that she has been granted holiday of x to y date and will return.

How long is she planning on visiting?

Oh. So is it mandatory? :(
She also has tax returns forms which mention the organisation's name and address and her employee status. Would that be considered?
She plans to visit for 3-4 months.
Thank u for such prompt replies.
It makes a world of difference for people like me.

She needs the letter confirming that she has been given holiday time for the duration of the visit and the company needs to confirm that it is holiday and that she will return to her job.

She has to provide, with documentary evidence, that she will return and has reasons to return. Tax returns don't confirm holiday or that job is ongoing when she goes back.

Ok thank you.
I guess if we mention she is employed in the application form, they would expect a letter as confirmation.
She was a previous goverment employee, a pensioner now basically.
But inside the application, we still have to mention her current private employment because the bank account with sufficient funds is the account with her monthly salary deposits.
So, considering all this, would you suggest that the best way is to provide a letter like you mentioned?
Is it the only way, or is there any other alternative evidence at all that would be accepted please?

She will need a letter from her employer confirming the length of her holiday (paid or unpaid) and her return to her job. There is no other way. Imagine ECO thinks she has resigned and coming to the UK and won't leave.

She has to convince the ECO with documentary evidence and the ECO can phone to verify any document they wish to.
