Query - Tier 2 general after Tier 2 ICT for 5 years

My friends Tier 2 ICT visa was issued in March 2012 and came into the UK in Jan 2013 so he has visa until March 2017 but now he wants to apply for Tier 2 general. Is it possible for him to switch from Tier 2 ICT after 5 years to Tier 2 General?

Yes, but only after he has served a 12 months cooling off period outside the UK.

Yes it is possible but only after serving a cooling off period of 12 months. If his spouse can get a Tier 2 General then he can switch to Tier 2 Dependent category inside UK.
