Hello everyone.
For someone to apply a VISIT VISA, does he or she need to book/pay a flight for UK VISA application purpose first, or plane ticket can be bought after the VISA has been granted? Also, as an inviting sponsor, do I need to specify the exact dates of the travels (arrival and departure) or I can only state arrival and the plan of departure (estimate)? Thank you all for your help.

Thank you for the advise. Just to clarify, I can put dates on the application or letters even without the official flight confirmation/booking from the airlines?

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

Sorry for bringing this up again..
but can someone interpret this to me... REQUIREMENT for under 18 in bold letters
4. If you're under 18
You can apply for a standard visitor visa if you’re under 18 and:
you’ve made suitable arrangements for your travel and stay in the UK
you have consent from your parent or guardian to travel to the UK
you’re able to pay for your return or onward journey
you have enough money to support yourself without working or getting help from public funds, or you have family and friends that can support you.

So if you have made this application before, how have you answered the questions previously?

In Japan embassy they were not looking for booked tickets and have different requirements.. and this is my first time to apply for her here in the UK so I am not familiar with the procedure.

You can write that 'sponsored by parent and step-parent'. It is not a trick question.

Thank you. I interpreted it differently.
