Date of first arrival

Post by sprocket445 » Sun Jan 31, 2016 10:31 pm

Hello,

I was hoping to confirm the correct date of first arrival for a citizenship application going via NCS this week.

I arrived in the UK in 2008 as a student, switched to T1 PSW in Feb 2010 in country and then changed to a T2 dependent in Dec 2011 (made application outside UK in Sep 2011, re-entered on the visa in Dec 2011) receiving ILR along with husband in June 2014.

Though I have been in the UK since 2008 the student visa time does not count as I understand? Does time on the T1 PSW and T2 dependent qualify me or do I need to have my husband apply alone for citizenship this week, wait until the application is decided and apply as the spouse of a BC?

My husband first arrived on working holiday maker but as per guidance on this forum is putting date of entry as the date he first entered on his T2 visa in 2009. We are confident of his eligibility.

Thank you in advance. We are OK to lose the £60 NCS fee but not the £1000 citizenship fee!

Don't confuse nationality law with immigration rules. They are very different.

All UK visas count for/towards citizenship so you need to write 'first date of entry'
