20 Year Long Residence issues

Post by RJ1955 » Thu Feb 04, 2016 2:11 pm

Hi, I've had to apply in November for the 20 year long residence rule. Firstly, how long does it usually take to be sorted out? Mine is quite clear cut, with plenty of records.

Secondly, is there an email/phone number where I can contact the HO so I could ask anything about working? I've never been on benefits, but obviously without working, my funds are getting low.

Does the Home Office accept ancestry DNA tests? Mine show atleast 64 percent European with 39 percent from the UK/Ireland.

DNA tests showing percentage of descent are irrelevant for the purposes of acquiring citizenship.

What is required is a clear paper trail of descent of British citizenship conforming to the British Nationality Acts 1948 and 1981.

DNA tests can be used to prove paternity in case the parents are not married, but the father is British and named on the birth certificate (of course, mater semper certa est).
