ILR application with more than 180 days outside UK

Hi,
I am planning to apply for ILR this summer. I have been working in the UK since Sept 2011. Due to my work, I have been traveling quite a lot. I have not counted yet, but for sure I have been out of the UK for more than 180 days in the last 5 years (but I dont think I had a single trip for more than 90 days).
I am working here with my Tier 2 visa. I am wondering what I need to do when I submit my ILR application. I am quite worried about it now as I have seen a lot of negative outcomes of many applicants in this forum.
Also my tier 2 visa will be expired next year, if my ILR application is rejected, does it mean that I cant work in the UK anymore? Thanks.

The limit is upto 180 days in any single 12 month period. Read calculating continuous period pdf ( google it).

It is a mistake to mix up naturalisation absence requirements with absence requirements for a visa (eg ILR).
Although someone with ambitions for privilege of citizenship needs to be aware of all requirements.

No more than 180 days per 12 month cycle (i.e. 180 days for each of the 5 12 month cycles).
