Apply Tier 2 Child Dependant Visa with temporary passport

Post by gayan1986 » Sun Feb 21, 2016 6:52 pm

Our son who was born in United Kingdom December 2015 wish to apply for Tier 2 General Child Dependant visa. As we have to travel to Sri Lanka for an emergency reason we wish to apply for his visa. I already have our son’s Sri Lankan temporary passport which is valid for 3 months till get the original Sri Lankan passport.

As Srilankan High Commission taking five to six months to make an original passport we’ve been advised to get an emergency passport for our son.

Could you please advise us ,

Can we apply for his Tier 2 Child Dependant visa with Srilankan 3 months valid Temporary passport (Non Machine Readable Passport)?
I can submit our all relevant documents and his original birth certificate.
Would that temporary passport be an issue to get his UK Tier 2 Child Dependant visa ?

The child cannot re-enter the UK on a temporary passport, the UK no longer accepts them. Use the temp passport to exit the UK. Apply for a normal passport in home country and do the visa application in the home country.
