Tier 2 dependent divorce

Post by anan_88 » Mon Feb 22, 2016 12:20 pm

Hi, I'm on Tier 2 visa and got married a few months ago. I got my wife Tier 2 dependent visa to bring her here. Unfortunately, it didn't work out for us. Things look bad and might end up towards a divorce. I have a mortgage as well, therefore I am trying to find the best possible way which saves me from more loss. Any information in this regard will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Not really an immigration question is it. If your wife is in the UK, there is a process you need to follow to inform HO of the marriage breakdown.

You will need to contact someone (lawyer or CAB) for advice on a divorce and property etc.

You can't divorce for a year at least, and it will cost you, believe me it will cost you!

I forgot to follow up on this. I did divorce and the Home Office curtailed her leave to 28 days where she had to leave within that time.
