TIER 2 Short term Staff Migrant to TIER 2 Long Term Staff Mi

Hello All,

I am here in UK on TIER 2 ICT Short Term VISA.

I need your assistant to know about the process or feasibility to change my VISA type (TIER 2 ICT Short Term) in TIER 2 ICT Long Term.

My VISA (TIER 2 ICT Short Term) is expiring on 30-Apr-2016 and my client want to extend it but he asked me to research about the process.

Someone tell me that this VISA type can not be extend/ change to any other VISA type while remain in UK. And if I want to change, I need to back India and get it change into TIER 2 ICT Long Term VISA.

Please do let me know, is this possible to change in Long term VISA by going back OR there is any cool-off period (the time I must spend in India before applying for any other VISA type to UK)?

Do you mean your 'employer in India'?

Actually my employer. Our company (employer) has registered office in UK and main office in India. So my query is regarding Tier - 2 ICT Long term visa (at least 3 years).

-Can it be extended / changed from UK, while staying here in UK during short term visa?
-Or we may need to apply for fresh long term visa?
-Is there any mandatory cool-off period to apply for Long term visa? If yes then how much is the cool-off period for same?

You cannot switch to ICT LT visa from within UK. You will have to go back to your home country and again apply for ICT LT visa from there. Cool-off is not applicable when you are switching from ICT ST to ICT LT visa.
