Passport Application - Parents/Grandparents

Post by wpongal » Wed Mar 09, 2016 10:27 am

Dear Friends

I am in the process of filling up the passport application form

I see there are sections to capture
- parents marriage date
- grandparents marriage date - paternal
- grandparents marriage date - maternal
- passport details for parents and grandparents

I have no accurate access to all of the details above - However, I do not qualify in either of those routes

1) Is it fine to leave them BLANK (example: none of my grandparents have passports , so - passport number would be BLANK)
2) Should the dates be accurate representation of the date ?

Many thanks

Grand parent details are not required for people who are naturalised.

You should complete the parent information as this is used in the interview to confirm your identity. Parents passport details not required. If you don't know the marriage date, write 'details not known'.

1) Answer what you can.
If not known state "not known" or "not applicable" (if they have no passport).

2) Be as accurate as possible.

Note The information is not strictly required from naturalised citizen.
However be aware you may be asked about your answers in the mandatory passport interview so suggest keep a copy of the application form for reference, (it is always prudent to do so anyway).
