Tier 2 ICT to General.Dependent visa required to change ?

Hello Friends,

I am on ICT Tier 2 issued before 2010 April(got two extensions in UK),switching to General in UK.My wife is on dependant visa(long term valid till 2018)

Does she requires to change her visa when I switch from ICT to General ? or she can continue until her current ICT dependant visa expires ?

Any reason why you are not apply for ILR instead of Tier 2 G?

Hi friend,

I have gap of 340 days in 2013-14,when i split this into two slot(170+170),I will be able to apply ILR in Sept.

My bad luck that i missed my last sept window by ignorance on my eligibility.

When are you planning to switch?

The main difference I can see between Tier 2 ICT dep and Tier 2 G dep is that ICT dep DO NOT pay the immigration health surcharge whereas Tier 2 G dep do have to pay it, upfront for the duration of their visa.

You will also have to pay it, where as now you are exempt from the surcharge.

I will be eligible again end of this sept and will apply during that period.

but currently i am planning to switch into TG.Since my wife is on T2 dependent and working.

Does she required to change visa since i am switching ? Also while switching,Do i need to pay Health surcharges for both us ? or its exempt for both of us ?

If you switch to Tier 2 General, you have to pay the health surcharge.

You are only exempt from the surcharge on Tier 2 ICT.

I hope your sponsor has conducted the full and proper RLMT process etc.

As i mentioned earlier, does my dependent(spouse) also required to change the visa or she can continue until her current visa validity ?.or she has to apply along with my application for to T2G(as dependant) ?

Thanks Vinny. As she is employed, do we need to inform her employer about my change of visa status ? I think no required.Please advise on this.This is just to make sure that her employment is not impacted since I am change my visa from ICT to General and she will continue with her current dependent visa which is valid till 2018.
