Tier 2 ICT dependant to Tier 2 General

Post by syu » Fri Mar 18, 2016 4:43 pm

Hi,

My husband holds a Tier 2 ICT long-term staff visa and I am his dependant.
We are in the last (5th) year of our visas and are looking for the best way to continue living in the UK with minimum disruption to our lives.

I understand that my husband would need to leave the UK for at least 12 months cooling off period before he could apply for Tier 2 General with SOC from his current or any other employer (?).

If I am offered a job with SOC, can I apply for Tier 2 General from within the UK or do I have to leave the country and apply from outside the UK?

One more question. If I do have to apply for Tier 2 General from outside the UK, do I have to apply from my home country? I would like to apply from an EU country, that is not my home country, where I will have a working visa.

You have to leave the UK and you have to apply from your home country.

You can only apply from another country if you have legal residence there (NOT a visitor visa).
