Tier 1 General Dependent Visa Process/Requirements

Hi,

I would appreciate if you could please kindly advise me how can I apply for my wife's visa? She is currently in Pakistan and I am on Tier 1 General visa.

Do I have to fill her application form online and she can print it from Pakistan and submit it from there? What are the documents required? Will I submit supporting documents from here or she will submit them from Pakistan?

Any help will be highly regarded.

It is still relevant and gets updated as mods can edit posts. Not many people apply for Tier 1 G Dependent anymore given that it is a closed category for main applicants.

Have you read the PBS (tier 1 dep) guidance notes?

Has she been in the UK previously as your dependent?

When do you qualify for ILR? It might be easier to bring her on the spouse settlement visa after you get ILR.

Hi Rafique,

This is the link for Points Based System (Dependant) - Policy Guidance https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... _11-15.pdf

Process is:
1. Register at https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/ to apply for her visa
2. Complete an application for her, book appointment, pay, etc online
3. They will send a letter to your missus for bio-metric enrollment
4. You will get a reference number and address for sending supporting documents to home office
4. She gets visa to travel in next 30 days (fingers crossed )
5. Get her BRP once she is in UK

I am finding it hard to fill online application for my missus as the online form is ambiguous. It does not say whether I have to give my details or her details in below sections:

1. Passport and Travel Information (T1 migrant or spouse?)
2. Personal Details and Travel History (T1 migrant or spouse?)
3. Family Details (T1 migrant or spouse?)
4. Medical Treatment (T1 migrant or spouse?)
5. Maintenance (T1 migrant or spouse?)
6. Main Applicant (T1 migrant or spouse?)
7. Additional Information (T1 migrant or spouse?)

So I am still at the stage of filling application online. I will let you know the full list of documents required as I am going to see an immigration solicitor in next few days.

I would appreciate if you could share your experience so far.
