Please help with Transfer of unrestricted CoS

Post by thuyduong » Sat Mar 19, 2016 2:29 pm

Hi all,

Here is my situation: My company is waiting for a slot of CoS from Home Office and my visa expires very soon. In the worst case scenario, if I couldn't get that new CoS from Home Office on time, there is one employee who is currently on Tier 2 with the Company and he's leaving the company on 31st of March. Does anyone know if in that case, his CoS becomes vacant and can the company use his available slot of Cos and transfer his CoS to me and I can use it to apply for my visa immediately? or does the company need to inform Home Office about his departure and do anything else before the company can transfer his CoS to me? and if so, how long would it take to transfer his CoS to me? Thank you!

Best,
Thuy

COS is a once only issue, once only use item it is not reusable or transferable. Once used it becomes invalid.
There are no slots as you refer to them. Each COS reference is no more than a method of allocating an identifier to the HO which they then use to examine the COS detail and process your visa application.

It takes about two weeks to get a further COS allocation, when did your company request it?

That's why I was confused.

Thanks.

The request was on last Friday. But this weekend and next Monday is Easter Holiday. And I'm afraid that I could get the CoS on/after 6th of Apr then some rules would change. My visa expires on 9th of Apr by the way. Thanks

transferring ownership of CoS between SMS users; it is an admin thing in SMS to move info between users....

Oh a little knowledge can be a very dangerous thing.....

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I thought it was the admin thingy as well but I saw migrant worker's name which made me confused lol. Anyway, I got it now. Thanks

By the way, do you know if the company should check their SMS regularly to see if the new CoS has been allocated or Home Office will inform the company that they have granted the CoS to the company?

Thanks
