Extending Spouse visa of a British Citizen before 28 days

Post by Madison » Thu Mar 31, 2016 7:47 pm

Hi,

My UK spousal visa expires on 14/05/2016, and so I had booked a premium appointment to renew it on 02/04/2016 which is about 43 days to my visa expiration date. I was told that if I proceed with this appointment I run the risk of my visa expiring earlier than the required 5year period, hence I would have to apply for an extension a few weeks before the 5year period is complete and then apply again for my ILR a few weeks later, hence paying application fees twice within a 1month period…kindly advise if this is indeed the case and I should move my appointment forward to fit within the 28day rule?

Secondly, I paid my spousal visa premium application fees in Feb 2016, only to find out the fees were increased in March 2016. Would I need to pay the difference? (Seeing as I paid the correct fees that were applicable when I paid)….If I do need to pay the difference, how and where do I pay it? Can I pay the difference at my premium visa appointment?

Thank you so much for you anticipated help.

I have moved your post to its own Topic. It is considered rude on the forum to tag your query onto other members posts.

On what date did you ENTER the UK on your spouse visa?

What is the start date of your visa?

Yes, you can end up with a shortfall to qualify for ILR, hence my questions above.

No, you will not have to pay extra if you have already paid the fees.
