Toddler British Passport Countersign

Post by babygirl » Sun Apr 03, 2016 12:44 pm

Hi,

I want to apply British passport for my 2.5 yrs DS. What I read on the application guide is the countersign must be someone who knows personally for at least 2 years.

Due to job reasons we have not really stayed at one place since my DS born, infact even before his birth.
My question is are they strict with this countersign rule for Kids passport? does the person who countersigns has to know us personally for at least 2 years?

thanks

Assuming you have now received the registration certificate, can you not use the same referee that you used in form MN1?

Thanks CR001 for quick response.
It was signed by his Pediatrician, but the form says the countersign must know us personally not just professionall?

And you don't have or know anyone that can sign that has known you personally (the parent) for 2 years?

Know a few but haven't met or spoken to them since moving to different cities for a while, asking them now may look odd, just not comfortable asking. Friends in the current city only know us since last year so not been a total 2 years so far. But if it is something that is a strict rule (like they need to know us for two years) then i do not have a choice but contacting some old friends for a favour.

How long has the Pediatrician known you?

It should be fine as you have no one else you can use and he knows you for more than 2 years.

If you don't know anyone else who is suitable I'd give it a shot. Worst case they'll come back to you and ask for another one if they're not happy with the referee you selected.
