I have a question regarding travelling to the USA & Canada from the UK with Leave to Remain status.
My BRP is up for renewal for another 2.5 years in September. I am planning to travel to Canada and the USA in June or July.
Since receiving my BRP in 2014, I have gotten married in the UK and changed my surname. My Canadian passport also expired a few months ago and I renewed it but in my current surname, not my previous maiden name (which is also on my BRP).
My question is this- can I travel outside of the UK and take both my old and new passports with me as well as my BRP to gain entry to the US & Canada? Would that work as a proof of my name change?
I know there is a Transfer of Conditions form that can be filled out to advise of a name change, but it costs approx £230 to do this and I am saving up the £900 for my BRP renewal in September and would like to avoid this cost if possible.
Thank You in advance for any help or advice!!
