ILR eligibility - Tier 2 Dependant and Tier 2 General

Post by indrani.sen » Wed Apr 06, 2016 12:18 pm

Hi ,

I have been on Tier 2 General Dependent visa since Sep'2012. Now my current employer is looking into sponsoring my visa , in that case I will be switched to Tier 2 General Main Applicant. My question is will my Tier 2 Dependent years be counter towards ILR once I switch to Tier 2 General Main Applicant? Any help/resource link will be helpful.

Thank you.

Your ILR clock will reset once you switch to Tier 2 General from Tier 2 G Dependent. Hope that helps.

Why do you want to switch visas when you are allowed to work on your dependent visa and only need 1.5 years to reach ILR with your partner.
