TIER 2 (GEN/DEP) HELP

Hi All,

My wife is an Indian national currently in the US on a student visa. I am in the UK on a tier 2 visa. She is applying for a tiier-2 dependent visa and one of the questions is about country of residence. Normally, we would have selected USA but the guidance next to the question says we should select permanent country of residence. Does that mean we should select India ?

Might sound straightforward but in a visitor visa application they asked for current location / residence and for the dependent visa they are asking for permanent country of residence. Please advise.

She can apply where she has legal residence. If the student visa is her legal residence then she should be fine.
