Benefits for elderly dependents

Post by rbsjp » Sat Apr 09, 2016 6:52 pm

If we get an elderly parent from India (75 yr of age) as dependent of UK citizen, are they eligible for any benefits?

No, they are not.

An Adult Dependent visa is almost impossible to get and very expensive.

Do both of your parents need daily help with washing, dressing, feeding and other basic tasks? If so, is that care either not available in their home country or not affordable? The door to settlement for adult dependent relatives has been virtually closed. Regarding benefits in the UK, you would be expected to support them financially.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

No way!

Even if you got the visa - and as others have said it's 99.99% refusal, you have to affirm to support them out of your own pocket.
