Hi guys i have been through the posts and got mixed judgement credits regarding the tax credits.
Actually i am British person and my wife came here on dependent visa last year and we got a baby child now which is obviously british.
Now the scenario is that
* I had to show that i am earning £19,000/annum as requirement of income threshold for non-eu spouse
* I am still getting the same amount although in 2 months i got less as threshold is
* I checked the hmrc calculator there still i can get tax credits on that salary
My question is that if i claim tax credits( whether it is working tax credit or child tax credit) so is there any chance my wife future application of extension as dependent visa get effects, coz she is not entitled to any recourse to public funds and at the same time our earning should not be less than £18,600
will be highly appreciated
Rizmir

No effect on her future applications but you MUST claim tax credits in JOINT names with her.
Child benefit MUST be in YOUR name only.

Much appreciated, your advise is always valuable as other members acknowledged
Actually i was going through the FLR application and section 7.6 asks '' Are you or your sponsor receiving any public funds''
so it means i have to click yes to that section coz every thing is traceable through NI record as these days they are very strict regarding financial matters and there is ''zero tolerance'' policy from Home office.
so what i concluded that any claimable amount on 18600 or more is allowable and claimable amount on less than 18600 should not be touched
plz correct me accordingly

You can claim as I have indicated. Tick relevant boxes in the FLR(M) form. No effect on visa extension.

You won't get wokring tax credits as the 18.6 you had to show to be able to sponosr your wife was set just above the couple rate (poverty rate) for working tax credits. You should get some Child Tax Credits as 26k is the cutoff for that.

Hi Petaltop
well said from ur side, this is exactly i concluded in my previous post'' that any benefit which could be made on £18,600 amount is ok''
If i m not wrong is as::
child tax credit
and
Child benefit
coz child benefit is same if your earning is £30,000 or 10,000 or any amount as i picked from government child benefit calculator
plz correct if iam wrong

Child benefit is a fixed amount yes.
Child tax credits is calculated based on household earnings.

Thanks very much
one thing i was wondering the scenario which is
If a person in the midway earn less than 18,600 like 4 or 5 months was earning like 14,000 and there is still 2 years left for visa renewal and claim
child tax credit & child benefit and though in that case some working tax credit as his P60 statement shows amount like 14,000
question is that ''is this detrimental for visa renewal and if i m not wrong at the time of extension last 6 month pay slips require for income proof'' or whole 2.5 years income proof require at that time
regards

Doesn't matter what you earn, it's only during the material 6/12 months prior to application which is important.
