Post by ILR_MN1 » Wed Apr 27, 2016 2:54 pm

Hi All,

I am going to apply for my Son citizenship through MN1. However he is not yet have any passport or ID card for Pakistan.

Yes. Assuming he was born in the UK, he does not require a passport.

Although remember that he is NOT stateless.

Thanks CR001.

Yes he is born in UK.

Should I leave the Nationality box blank or fill in Pakistan?

Who says he is "without nationality"?
He is a Pakistani citizen who does not yet have a "Pakistani passport or identity document".

MN1 after expiry of Dependent Visa

Post by ILR_MN1 » Thu Apr 28, 2016 4:34 pm

Hi All,

I am sorry if this question is asked before.

My friend will be applying for ILR in June. His son is born in UK and he had applier for Tier 1 Dependent Visa for his son which will expire at the end of June. He is not planning to apply for his son ILR.

My question is, does he need to apply for MN1 before the expiry of dependent visa or he can apply after June. Does he need to add the biometric resident permit for his son in the MN1 application if he is applying after the expiry of Visa?

your help is highly appreciated.

Thanks,

No. A UK born child registering on MN1 does not need ILR or a valid visa to apply for citizenship. The child has an entitlement to register.
