Tier 2 Dependant and Name change

Post by aadiman007 » Thu Apr 28, 2016 10:00 pm

Hi,

My kids names got changed in Indian passport recently.
My wife is having Tier 2 general visa.
My wife's visa details are given with old name of my kids.
Currently my kids are my dependants as I'm holding Long term ICT Visa.

Me and my kids would like to do in country switching and become my wife's dependants.

What formalities I needed to do to convince the name change of my kids while applying for the visa ?
Do I need to update kids name in my wife's visa details before applying kids dependants visa ?

Best Regards,
Aadiman

Hi,

I had changed their names by submitting passport application in BHC London.
Like Sworn affidavit, news paper add etc also submitted.

Kids got new passports with name updated.

Middle name got removed. thats the only change.

Ram gunasekara Aadiman got changed to Ram Aadiaman. thats all.

Best Regards,
Aadiman

Did you do a deed poll?

Which newspapers was it in (UK)?

Hi,

I ddnt do a deed poll as it was not needed for Indian passport holders.
Submitted application for passport renewal with Sworn affidavit (attested by passport officer).
I have the birth certificate also with corrected names.
It was advertised in 'Daily Express '

I'm planning for the premium service visa application.
Just thinking whats the best way to proceed.
Do I need to go via solicitors ?

Best Regards,
Aadiman

1. Get the name changed on the children's current BRPs, i.e. - apply for replacement BRPs.
2. After replacements have been received, apply for leave to remain as PBS dependants of mother.

Hi,

Mine and kids existing visa is getting expired on May20th.
I dont think time is there to get my kids existing BRP card updated.
Can't I state this matter while applying for the new visa with old and new passports and old and new birth certificate copies ?

Best Regards,
Aadiman

1. BRP(RC) can be applied for in-person.
2. UKVI states that a new BRP must be applied for in cetain conditions, name change being one of them.
3. If you don't want to, then I guess you have to do with what you have, and hope UKVI doesn't come up with some reason for refusal.
