Tier 2 Curtailment

Hello,
I have a query about my tier 2 visa which has been curtailed in June 2016. I haven't yet received any email or post from the home office. I wrote to them and called a few times. Then i received an email saying that i will receive something in about 20 days. Since my colleague say they have until 8th Aug 2016, will i be considered an over stayer if i do not leave the country or if i am still waiting for the curtailment letter.
Please can someone throw some light on my query and advise me appropriately.

Suggest wait for the letter from HO which will contain the relevant dates for you.
