Visitor Visa for my in-laws ?? (HELP Please)

Hi All,


I live in UK and my father-in-law and mother-in-law are in india and wanted to visit us.

1) I understand they need to apply for Visitor visa.

But itlooks like there are 2 places to apply now, VISA4UK - Visitor-Family-6months

or https://visas-immigration.service.gov.uk/ - here it is mentioned as Standerd visitor visa

Im not sure which one to opt now!! im confused basically.

i need them to visit for 6months minimum.


2) they are planning to visit for the first time to the UK.can i apply for 2 years (with each trip 6 months long)

my friends suggested for first time applicants it is allways safe with 6 months visa and if you launch 2 years visa they will reject!! is this true

Did anyone experiance this!!

Visiting 6 months every year is tantamount to residing in UK and that is not the purpose of such a visa.

Your family will not be granted a 2 year visa upfront and without having established their compliance with the visit visa system; that is, with a good record of visits.
