Coming: Congratulations mate. I am happy for you. I have also been waiting for 22months now without a decision. I had traffic offence in 2008. Going by your post, I also applied in September 2014 and I Received a letter in July 2015 to provide proof of payment of the fine, which I sent to them immediately. I hope I will receive some good news soon too. When was your last contact with INIS regarding the status of your application and what did they say? Your timeline has given me a ray of hope.coming wrote:At last after 21 months my approval has finally landed today.
My timeline as follows
Applied 14 October 2014
Further documents requested in July 2015 to clarify the fines and the reason I could not get the money to pay the fines.
Finally the fines was cancelled by the court
The total fines was 1000 euros but managed to pay 250 euros
Again got another traffic fines which was paid.
Again got another fines for traffic which I won in the court of appeal.
I worked full time as a. Healthcare Assistant
In April 2016 I wrote them a compassionate letter and promise them to be of good driver.
Moreover the kind of good work I have been doing as a Carer which was acknowledged.
Finally today my approval letter was issued on 25 of July and received on 28 July.
I am taking this opportunity to thank especially Kingdomans for his kind advice which I took to
Appeal to them
I pray for those still waiting and God almighty will open his doors for everyone.
Coming but now Arrived
Posted here by mistake, answer given by KingdomMan on thread 2016 instead of this one for 2015. Essentially, yes, must swnd original passport, and yes, they return it, and yes, it is untouched.montybuy wrote:Good morning, and thank you all for this very informative forum. I have two questions concerning the first Irish passport application after naturalisation. I'll be in the next incoming ceremony
1) is it required to enclose the original foreign passport? The sleeve with information on the passport application mentions nothing about this requirement, but the INIS website lists the original foreign passport. I rang the passport service and they said it is not required, but the person did not seem very knowledgeable of this particular issue. Should I enclose my passport from my previous citizenship?
2) do you know for sure if the original foreign passport is returned along with the Irish passport?
3) will it be as it was sent or do they stamp it or cut it or something which may render it unusable?
Thank you so much.
PS: KINGDOMMAN YOU ARE FANTASTIC
