Address Proof and Employment History Needed for BC?

Post by atrang » Fri Jan 06, 2017 11:57 am

Hi masters,

I need your help with a doubt about my application for naturalisation.

I got my PR in Oct-15 after 5 yr residence in UK on T-1 visa and satisfying all the requirements including English Language Test, Knowledge of Life & Language in UK, Employment history (Self employed for last 4 yrs).
Now after completing more than a year on PR, I am applying for naturalisation and need to know if we need to provide any additional address proof documents even if the dates in passport are sufficient to prove the 5 yr residence? Also, the Form AN says that self employed people should provide latest self assessment statement of account from HMRC. I do have that but do we need to provide proof of employment for last 10 years in addition to this? The employment history for last 5 years was already provided during the ILR application.

So I am confused a little and require your suggestions and advice on the same.
Your help on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Passports are sufficient to prove residence. No need to send address evidence.

You need to list your employment for the last 10 years (or from date you entered the UK) as the form asks. Take P60's with you if you wish to but evidence of all your employment is not required.

The immigration rules for ILR are completed different and separate to the Citizenship LAWS.

How is what you're saying not contradicting this?
1.48- 1.50 You must provide details of all your National Insurance contributions made
for your current and previous employment during the past 10 years. To support this
claim evidence can be in the form of payslips, P60s covering the relevant period, or a
letter(s) from the employer(s) confirming you have worked for them, from the start
and finish date.

Thanks CR001.
I will carry the P45/P60/SA302 along with the Self Assessment Statement of Account from HMRC.
