Change of name

Dear All,
I have a situation which I hope to find assistance for on this forum... Bless you all in advance.

SITIUATION: My Nigerian passport is in my old name and I have requested for a deed poll change of name which has been done. However, I was told I'd have to go to Nig. to get it changed on my passport (not going to happen now because of my education). My problem is, can I change my name on my British Passport (during naturalization) even though my Nig. one still shows my old name?

I would like to know, how did it go with your change name on your Nigerian passport, what did you do?

Think I'm in a similar position, like you were and I need advice.

This topic is more than 2 years old and the poster only ever posted this once and has not logged in or posted again since August 2014.

Suggest contact your embassy. The rules regarding different names on different passports has changed in the UK and HO and HMPO will not issue BC or passports in a different name to the foreign passport.
