Child Benefit

Post by dawndetector » Wed May 03, 2017 3:20 pm

Hi,

Has any Tier 2 ICT visa holder applied for Child Benefit and got the approval?
Tier 2 ICT Visa suggests no recourse to public fund but i read it somewhere on the website that if you're sponsored by someone (your employer) there should be an exception for you to claim the child benefit.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance.

You are NOT allowed to claim benefits or child benefits AT ALL.

What link have you 'read this' in? Are you confusing the tax exemption issue with benefits??

I can't find back the link but the below is something similar to what I've read in the past:

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... _v13.0.pdf

Page 21:

Exception 1
A person who has been given leave to enter, or remain in, the United Kingdom by a
maintenance undertaking by another person or persons (pursuant to the immigration rules
within the meaning of the Immigration Act 1971).

I may be wrong as you said in your previous post...

It refers to maintenance (spousal or child support) for a child or (ex) spouse, not maintenance for PBS migrants. You cannot claim benefits, you will be in breach of the rules if you do.

Hi thanks for your response, I won't claim for sure as I was unsure that's why decided to post here to get advice. Thanks again!
