Spouse received second assessment email

Post by rhlsf » Tue Jul 18, 2017 5:03 pm

Hi All,
My Fiance just received the following email again

"Dear applicant,
Your application for a visa has been received by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) in New York and is being assembled and prepared for assessment..."

Two weeks ago she received the same email when they received her paperwork. Has anyone seen this before? Or any ideas why we may have received this again just now?

Thanks for your input.

Randy

Probably sent by someone who didn't realise this was a duplicate email.

I thought it was maybe due to them just starting on her visa now? In case they possibly misplaced it?

Either way, I'm on day 11 of my visa wait now. Hopefully any day now...

You've posted this in the Tier 4 (student) visa sub-category. What visa exactly has your fiancee applied for?

Thanks for your replies. She is applying as a Tier 4 dependant, so her visa approval hinges on the approval of my visa, but I haven't heard back either. I'll be going to grad school, and she is hopefully coming with.

I was just curious about it since I didn't receive a second email about receiving the application, but for some reason she did just now.

How does she qualify as a Tier 4 Dependant if you aren't either married or qualify as unmarried partners? Have you been living together in a relationship 'akin to marriage' for a minimum of 2 years?

Yes, we've been together for 4 years and are engaged. Lots of proof, just haven't tied the knot yet.

And I heard back from a number of other people who experienced the same thing. One guy even said he received the same email 3 days after his visa was approved! I gather it's a common mistake.

Thanks for everyone's replies.
