Extending Tier 2 General Dependant, Main applicant in ILR

Post by jaishah11 » Wed Jul 12, 2017 3:05 pm

Hi,

I have my wife and my son as dependant on Tier 2 general. I have moved on to ILR now.
I need to apply for their Tier 2 General Dependant extension.
Do you know what financial evidence is acceptable? Can I show bank statements under my name (not on my wife's name) to prove we have enough funds?
Any other document I need to provide apart from Passport, Photos and their old BRPs?

Also, do you know how to calculate IHS Surcharge for them. There is no ILR as an option for main application in the IHS Website. When I enter by current expiry of VISA as by 2024, it is calculating 1500 GBP as IHS surcharge per applicant.

Regards,
Jai

you may have to pay more for IHS but will get the refund. Alternatively, put expiry date for 3 years and pay £600 for each and write a letter explaining that end date has been used such that they pay IHS accordingly as guidance say they will get the visa for 3 years.
You can use your own bank statement. that is fine. £630 each, so should be more than £1260

i think applying online, he will have to insert some date in it.
My suggestion will be to add 3 years from now as expiry date.. and add a letter to explain why u have added 3 years.

Hi,

Thanks all for your response.
I applied for my wife and my son's visa extension now.

In the document checklist, it says:

1. Documents showing you have had at least £1260.00 in cash savings for 90 consecutive days
2. Statements from a personal bank or building society account (HSBC)

For 1. I will provide my bank statement (I am the main applicant)
What is 2? Do they need my wife's bank statement as well? We are not maintaining any funds in her bank account.
A bit confused, kindly help.

Regards,
Jai

2 is the same as 1.
Your statements should say that the min balance has been 1260 for last 90 days min.

Thanks!!
So, 1. will be under my name. Main application (who have an ILR now and am not applying for extension together with my wife and son)
Will that still be okay and some bank statement on my wife's name is required.

Jai

Dear Sir

Can you please tell me how you managed with the Health surcharge part. I am in the exact similar situation and I am being asked to pay 1500 pounds per dependant as my ILR expires in 2024. What did you do?

Best Regards
Ismail
