Where to send UK Fiance Visa Application Applying from NZ

Hello!

I am a New Zealand Citizen applying for the Fiance/Settlement Marriage Visa to join my partner in the UK (applying from New Zealand). We have posted our Supporting Documents to the address provided in Sheffield, I have completed my Biometrics Appointment and following this sent a copy of the signed Online Application with my passport to the UK Immigration address in Auckland, New Zealand.

Per the link below, and the advice page received regarding what to do next for a Settlement Visa at my Biometrics Appointment, the application should have been sent to Auckland, New Zealand.

However, today I have received a letter from UK Immigration in Auckland, NZ saying they regret to inform me from 20 December 2017 all supporting documents should be sent to the Sheffield address in the UK, and they have returned my signed and Biometric stamped online application.

I am confused! The application is not a supporting document and all other sources state the application should be sent to the address in Auckland, NZ. Should this be sent to the UK? It seems very contradictory to all the other advice, would be great if someone could help.

The information in that link is different to the letter I received hence my confusion! I sent the application to Auckland as advised, it was returned with a letter stating supporting documents should be sent to Sheffield?

Not sure if I should re-send it to Auckland NZ or Sheffield UK?

There is a different process for submitting UK settlement visa applications in New Zealand.

The appendix and all supporting documents should be sent by the sponsor or applicant to:

Settlement Applications, International Operations and Visas
PO Box 5852

Send your passport and application form separately to the Auckland address below.

Post your supporting documents to Sheffield as soon as possible after the online application form has been completed. These should include your unique GWF number. The documents may be sent before you enrol your biometric data and before you post your application form to the Auckland address above. When sending supporting documents to Sheffield, make sure you:

include a photocopy of biometric page of the applicant’s passport at the front of the bundle
mark the GWF reference number (generated when the application is completed online) and the location of the centre where the application was lodged on the outside of the envelope and the top right-hand corner of the first page of documents.
include a self addressed return courier envelope for the return of your documents from Sheffield.
We aim to make a decision on a settlement visa in 60 working days. If you have opted for our Settlement Priority Visa Service, your application will be put at the front of the queue and the decision expedited.

Those instructions are the ones I have followed...

As mentioned in my initial message, I sent the application part to Auckland as advised in the information you sent, yet it was returned.

I have emailed UK immigration to advise.

Their procedure seems so confusing, inefficient and ill thought out!

How was this resolved? We will be making an spouse visa application ourself from nz.

The emails from immigration weren’t very helpful, they just re-sent me the link I had included in my email. Eventually after re-emailing a few times they said you should follow the online instructions but if the letter says differently do what the letter said.

In the end I just resent the application form part to both Auckland & Sheffield with a letter stating what had happened as I didn’t really trust immigrations advice. I would follow the online instructions, I think/hope they just made an error with my application. All was fine in the end! Good luck!
