Did he have the correct visas to enable travel via Germania to Angliya?lounalie wrote:i'm really upset and worried about my boyfriend, he's from the gambia and was flying to berlin last wednesday (9th) to catch the train to london to come and meet me for the first time. but not i, nor his family have heard a word from him since he left the gambia, i'm really upset and can't stop crying, please help me, i want to find out whats going on.
If he had a visa for Germany (which I think we have to assume is an ordinary Schengen visa, although it might have been a transit visa allowing only a short stay in the Schengen zone) and he was coming to the UK by train, would he be held by UK immigration officials (who check the passports of Eurostar passengers before they board the train — in Brussels, Paris, Lille, or Calais — not after arrival in the UK), or would the UK immigration people simply have refused him the right to board the train, in which case he is probably still in the Schengen area, in the custody of immigration officials in either Belgium or France, or back in Gambia (if his Schengen visa was a short-stay one).try-one wrote:"catch the train to london" without UK visa?
There is your answer, most likely he is being held by immigration officials!
Looks like no visa then. What an utterly stupid thing to do - what was he thinking?lounalie wrote:my boyfriend left me a voice message last night saying he's been detained in germany since he arrived, and said something about having to go to court, i didn't understand that bit, but i'm alot happier now i've heard from him
