Info Needed On Spouse/ Fiance Visa, Im Uk Resident

I have done a bit of searching but i cant seem to find the info im looking for. I also called the immigration helpline but they want to charge a lot of money for the pleasure.

I just met a lovely Taiwan woman who is visiting the UK and living with her sister. Because she is from Taiwan she does not need a visa to visit for up to 6 months. I was born in the UK and i have lived here all my life.

If out relationship progresses, what is needed for her to live with me in the UK?

Does she need to go home and apply for the visa from her home country?

How much will the visa cost and how long does it take to get approved?

Am i right in thinking the only way for her to live here for good with me is by getting married?

Am i right in thinking the only way for her to live here for good with me is by getting married? Yes unless she qualifies for one of the Points Based employment visa categories (skilled worker ect).

* If you choose to marry in the UK she would have to first return to her home country and submit an application for a fiance visa. This would grant her leave of 6 months during which you would be required to marry and then switch to a 2.5 year FLR(M) Spouse visa.
This would involve two visa applications, and therefore two visa fees.
£1,523 + £1,033 + £500 NHS Surcharge = £3056

As the sponsor do you meet the financial requirement of £18,600 p.a or without earned income have £62,500 held in an accessible account for at least 6 nonths

Yes my earnings are over the £18600 and i have savings too but nowhere near £62500.

I think the difficult part would be waiting a long time on her visa getting approved while she is in her home country.

Yes my earnings are over the £18600 and i have savings too but nowhere near £62500. You don't need both. You can qualify with your income alone.

I think the difficult part would be waiting a long time on her visa getting approved while she is in her home country. If you meet all the requirements the wait shouldn't be lengthy.
