T2 ICT dependent to T2 G

Post by puneetha » Tue Nov 13, 2018 8:32 am

Hi,

I have moved to UK as a T2 ICT dependent and started working in a firm. Now my firm is looking to sponsor me a T2 General Visa. As I understand, there is no way to switch from T2 ICT dependent to T2G.

Is applying a fresh application ,for T2 G, from my home country the only way?
If yes, should my firm sponsor me as a new employee or can they sponsor a current employee - Confused as I will be making a fresh application.

You can only apply from home country and the full Rlmt process etc must have been completed.

You need a restricted Cos - new hires and must meet all the requirements including the minimum stipulated salary.

Thanks for a quick reply.

As I am already employed by the company, will it be legal to apply as a new hire?

The new hire refers to the type of CoS required, ie you are a new hire applying outside the UK and NOT an existing tier 2 employer extended within the UK.

The RLMT will need to be completed 100% correctly to prove you are not 'pre-selected' and that no settled, British or EU citizen is available and suitable for the job.

What is the SOC the sponsor is proposing using and the salary you are being offered??

I am currently working as a software engineer and the SOC for the same will be - 2136 Programmers and software development professionals.

I am currently being paid £40000-£50000 pa.

So the process will be to apply for a restricted CoS as a new hire and applying from home country, please correct if I am wrong.

Also is there any monthly quotas for the T2 G visa allocation? If yes, am I better off applying in any particular month, is there any trend that you are aware of?

Yes

No 'particular month' really. The difficulties previously experienced with CoS approval has passed and the last two months have been much better with most getting approval but there are limits to what HO allocates per month at the monthly meeting.

What points usually are safe to have to expect a CoS approval?

There is no longer a higher points approval anymore. People are getting CoS with low points now.

It is not only about points, there are many things that HO look at, particularly the RLMT and they often request additional documents from the sponsor.
