FLR(M) renewal - but visa length doesn't match normal timings

Hello,

On 16 July of 2016 I received my FLR(M) - switching from a Tier 2 visa. I am now looking to renew, but the end date on my BRP is the 13th of February. Instead of a 30 month or 33 month visa, I have a 31 month visa. So I am now trying to ascertain when I could apply for my renewal. 28 days before the end shown on the BRP (so in January), or 28 days before 30 months (so this month)?

Can someone advise if they have been in this position?
