Expedited return of supporting documents

Post by kurianpius » Wed Nov 07, 2018 1:03 pm

Dear All

I am using https://www.gov.uk/visa-documents-returned to get my wife's and child's passports - which were submitted as part of a tier 2 dependant extension application - returned sooner. Could you please help with the following questions, please ?

1. Can I request for the return of the current BRP card, along with the passport?
2. Does it have to be a separate request for the child's passport?

Delivery of BRP and Passport

Post by kurianpius » Thu Dec 06, 2018 12:25 pm

Hi All
Could you please advise on the following queries about the delivery of passport and documents in an in country tier 2 extension application?

1. Are the passport and BRP sent separately
2. Is there an approval letter that is sent?
3. Does DX do all the above deliveries ?
4. Is there any notification from DX courier ahead of the delivery?

Warm Regards
Kurian

1. Usually yes.

2. Yes.

3. No. DX Couriers only deliver the BRP Card as far as I am aware. The rest comes by post.

4. Some get one, some don't.

Issue linking biometric

Post by kurianpius » Sat Dec 08, 2018 2:40 pm

Dear All,

I applied for TIER 2 extension (Standard) for my wife and child on 22nd October 2019 and sent the documents and did the biometrics on the following day. Last week (29 November) we got an email from UKVI saying biometrics hadn't been done. Upon producing the acknowledgement from post office they replied saying it was an IT problem which was now fixed. We then asked if it is realistic to expect the visa before 11th December as we had urgent travel coming up and they replied they will speed it up to ensure the documents are delivered by then. Neither the passports nor the BRPs have been delivered till now and UKVI aren't responding to our emails this week. The telephone helpline isn't of much either. Has anyone had a similar experience and is it still realistic to expect the passport and BRP to be delivered by the 11th as they told
Warm Regards
Kurian

Topics merged!!

As already advised, the documents are delivered separately.

It is probably unlikely you will get them all by the Tuesday, 11th.

If you knew you would have travel plans, you should have used priority or in person as the standard time frame for normal applications is 8 weeks, sometimes longer.

Note also that if they travel out of the UK while an application is pending with HO, their application will be considered withdrawn and if their previous visas have already expired, their section 3c protection will end.

Thank you we probably should have gone for priority application. Infact we did explore the option when the email notifying about the biometric linkage issue came, but decided against it as they said they will speed up the process and the get the documents back by the 11th. Unfortunately no further responses from them
