Need guidance on startup application

Post by Mfarhanali » Tue Dec 11, 2018 7:09 am

Hi,

I want to settle in UK.
Can someone please give advice based on experience. I am a Network Engineer working in Muscat, Oman. My in-laws are British citizens, but not my wife.

My in-laws gave me three options below:
1 - Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) start a field related business in UK.
2 - Tier 2 (Work Visa) Find a job with a company who can sponsor you.
3 - Tier 4 (Student visa) Find a PHD program with scholarship. so that you can stay here on Tier-4 visa and you can find a job and switch.

Please guide, which option is better for me.

Only you can decide what is the best route you qualify for.

For tier 1 entrepreneur, have you got £200k and a viable business plan and market research etc??

Note that tier 4 does not lead to settlement based on 5 years residence.

Note also that all 3 visas you are asking about are different rules and requirements and we the forum has specific sub forums for each category.

For Tier-1, I have a business plan, and i am doing the market research. but need more info like below

- Can i show a third party account statement, and he will sign a letter that confirms he is giving me £200k to start a business.
- Do i need to show 90-days bank statement in my home country only, or i have to transfer £200k to UK.
- Can i buy a business which is already running in UK, and expend it as per my plan?
- Do i need to invest all £200k or i can start with £10k to £20k and end up with max £50K before getting an extension for 2 years.
- do i need to hire full-time British citizens for 3 years?
- If my business will be in loss after 3 years, then can i get the extension for 2 years?

For Tier 1 Entrepreneur visas, post in the sub forum link below.

uk-tier-1-entrepreneur-visas/

For Tier 4 Student visas, post in the sub forum link below.

uk-tier-4-student-visas/

For Tier 2 queries, continue in this existing topic which is already in the Tier 2 sub forum.

Note that members are all unpaid volunteers. I would suggest you decide which route to pursue to get advice based on that route and immigration rules, for free, but not to abuse the members generosity and time by multiple topics about various visas categories as we also have to search for info.
