Child Visa - Parents on Tier 2 (5 Years Visa)

Post by buntydas13 » Tue Dec 04, 2018 5:07 pm

hello,

I am sorry if this has already been asked and answered but i couldnt find related to this issue in forum.

We had a baby gal in August this year, me and wife have a 5 year Tier 2 Visa.

I have already got the UK Birth Certificate, India Birth Registration and Indian Passport for the Baby.

Now my query is: That when i am trying to apply for baby passport it says total cost around 2300 pounds.
(1400 for Visa and 900 for IHS)

I have already paid the IHS of 900 pounds but had second thought if i was doing it right.

If anyone has gone through this, please let me know if i am on the correct path?

Thanks, Shubhendu

When was your Tier 2 visa issued? It appears the IHS was calculated for 4.5 years at £200/year. I know the IHS is going to increase to £400 /year at some point this month

Thanks CR001.
I guess my calculation was correct then. the IHS for the child was calculated for the remaining 4.5 years.

Thanks friend for the reply and confirming i was on right path..

So, my second quesiton is as I am on Tier 2 the Child Visa of Tier 2 would be under which category for the charges applicable

As going through Fees post by Vinay the website seems to have selected

Tier 2 (General), (Intra-Company Transfer) - Long Term Staff, where a certificate of sponsorship has been issued for a period of more than three years - 1408 Pounds

Is this the right category for her Visa or where should i be applying for her VISA

What you are applying for is a dependent visa. Your child's visa will be dependent on yours

So when it increases, do we need to pay again another 900 pounds as i have already paid for the 4.5 years?

If you have already paid, you won't have to pay in extra when it increases.

Thanks CR001, yes i have already paid the IHS but havent yet paid the VISA and BRP (as confused which category should i apply under), So when i apply for Visa hopefully wont have to pay again for IHS increased amount.

Also if you can help with the category that i should select for my daughter visa (she is born in UK) as i tried under PBS - Dependent Child is there a one that suit more?

Just one more question:

Why this discrepancy as on below link for UK family Visa, it shows for Apply in the UK online or by post it says 1033 pounds but on the link to apply it counts 1408 pounds based on Tier 2 (General), (Intra-Company Transfer) - Long Term Staff, where a certificate of sponsorship has been issued for a period of more than three years - 1408 Pounds

Link: https://www.gov.uk/uk-family-visa

Thanks again for all your help so far.

The 5 year visa is more expensive than the standard 3 years

The link you have quoted above is for a completely different visa category and not relevant to your circumstances at all.

You cannot unfortunately get out of paying the fee for your child for a more than 3 years tier 2 dependent visa.

Hi CR001 and DJSuccess,

I have applied in PBS Dependant Child as you had suggested and had query regarding the required documents.

I had posted this as a seperate thread but didnt get reposnse hence, posting it here.

I am confused in the list of documents required during bio metric and the same needs to be submitted online.

The only document that it shows mandatary on ukvcas website is the Proof of Identity / Travel History - that would be Passport

Which other documents do i need to upload online and which i need to carry with me personally to the center for verification other then Baby's Passport.

Immigration Details:
Me and wife have a 5 year Tier 2 Visa, our COS is A rated sponsor and we dint needed to show financial documents when we moved to UK 6 months back.

On UKCAS website it list following optional documents - but not sure which are relevant and needs to be uploaded in my case for the baby.

Optional documents
Below is a list of optional document categories. Please ensure you read the supporting document guidance on GOV.UK for your application route before including documents in the below categories. For some applications routes, ‘Optional’ documents offer you the ability to provide evidence in a number of categories at your discretion to satisfy immigration rules.

Document Type
Status
Other
Residence in the UK
Finances
Proof of Business
Life Events
Medical Information
Sponsors / Employment
Educational
Proof of Application
