Change of employement on tier 2

I am looking to change my sponsors, I have received my COS , on the the general application leave to remain tier2 form , ask a question

What is the length of your COS
1. 3 years or less
2 . More than 3 years.

Would anyone help me in regard to this question please.

Have you thought to ask your sponsor??

You can only apply for a visa duration based on what the CoS says. You cannot decide this for yourself.
