Query on ICT tier 2 visa

My wife is getting a long term Tier 2 ICT visa from MNC firm into Information Technology. So i will be getting a Tier 2 ICT dependent visa.

I am also in IT and once in UK, I will be searching a job. If I manage to find an employer who can sponsor my Tier 2 general visa, is the switch possible?

You cannot 'switch' within the UK to Tier 2 General. You have to apply from your home country with a restricted CoS from an HO approved sponsor and full RLMT must be done to prove no British/EU citizen or settled person is suitable for the job.

Just a clarification, wont I be a PBS dependent in this case? If an employer is ready to sponsor a tier 2 visa it should work right?

Sorry if my message was not clear. I would be on ICT dependent visa but not employed.

Not sure I understand what you are trying to state above??

If your can get a sponsoring employer AND they have completed the ALL the requirements and RLMT before offering you the job AND they can get an RCoS approved at the monthly allocation meeting, then it should be to apply for Tier 2 General from your home country. There is no guarantee of approval but if you meet the requirements and points, it should be granted.
