Company has both tier 2 general and ict

Post by cherrywill » Tue Jan 08, 2019 9:19 pm

Hi,

So my company has licensing for both tier 2 general and tier 2 ict. I’m in the US and I’m looking to transfer to London for the same role. Does that exempt my company from the resident labor market test? Would it be possible to request that they can transfer me on a tier 2 general visa instead of tier 2 ict. Or does this cost them extra money? I want to stay in the UK long term.

I'd you plan on staying in the UK long term then you need tier 2 general and meet the requirements.

ICT is limited to just over 5 years and doesn't lead to indefinite leave to remain.

Yes, I know which is why I want tier 2 general visa. My question is if my company has licensing for both visas. Would I get to choose which I want to apply for or does it cost my company more money. Also, and most importantly, since the uk job would be the same job I have now in the us, would my company be exempt from the resident labor market test?
