Switching from Tier 4 Student Visa to Tier 2(General) Dependent

Hi all,

I am currently working on a Tier 4 Dependent visa and will be eligible to apply for Tier 2 General with my employer from inside the UK. My spouse is studying here in the UK with a Tier 4 General Student Visa.
As per my understanding,Tier 4 Dependent visa can switch to Tier 2 General inside the UK.

My questions is that :
Can my spouse switch from Tier 4 General Visa to Tier 2 dependent visa inside the UK? Can my spouse apply for Tier 2 dependent visa for me along with his application inside the UK ? Or is it required to go back to home country to apply for Tier 2 dependent Visa? Any advice and more information is highly appreciated.
