Recovery of Sponsors Passport

Post by Flathead wifi » Sun Jan 20, 2019 6:08 pm

HI there,
So husbands ILR application went in beginning of December. My passport and a photo copy went with it (Me being a British national/sponsor). I need my passport back for a 40th holiday with friends. I see that there is a form you can fill out on the Home Office website applying for my passport back - it does stipulate that it may mean cancelling the application (the application is far more important than the holiday of course), it also states that I'd be informed during the application process if asking for my passport back would cancel the application.... - being somewhat of a paranoid cynic of the home office, has anyone done this - and at what part of the application stage would it inform you... I don't want to jeopardise the application.
Warm regards
Dawn

1. Many have. Some have not had their applications cancelled, others have.

2. There was no requirement to send the original British passport, a copy would have been sufficient.
