Need to travel but no ETA on visa decision but have a valid BRP.

Post by svv » Wed Jan 16, 2019 8:54 pm

I am switching from Tier 1 Entrepreneur Dependent to Tier 2 General Dependent.

Applied for same day super priority service (December last week) through new system UKVCAS Super Priority Service (managed by Sopra Steria).

I have a valid Tier 1 Entrepreneur Dependent visa till July 2019.

I have the passport and BRP with me. (new system doesn't retain these two with them while they take a decision).

I am at cross roads:
  • I have an urgent travel plan abroad [10 days trip].
There is no ETA on when I will get a decision on my Tier2 Dependent VISA
    It's been 3 weeks already.
Can I travel and come back with my current BRP?

Please advise it's very important that we do this brief trip.

I must thank this forum and admins for a fantastic contribution to the community.

Thanking in advance

Regards
SVV

If you travel out of the UK while an application is pending, the application will be considered withdrawn.

Thank you very much for your reply.
Just a quick follow up question and a last one.

Assuming my application is withdrawn - can i come back and re-apply for Tier 2 General Dependent Visa.
Would there be any other implications further - apart from losing application fees?

Really appreciate your timely replies again.

Warm Regards

You can reapply at any point as long as you return and you still have a valid visa.

Thanks very much for your reply.

I heard back from Home office on my Tier 2 PBS dependent visa via super priority service. They have not processed my visa because of missing shortage occupation payment. I fail to understand why have they asked a dependent to pay this? Shouldn't this be meant for the Main visa holder rather than the dependent? While submitting the application I wasn't asked to pay anything like this. Unless I pay this, they will not proceed with my application. Any information on this would be helpful.

Thanks

If your partner is a shortage occupation tier 2 visa holder, you have to apply under the same as a dependent, ie not choose the normal tier 2 dependent option.

Yes I applied under the same category as my partner. No idea why are they saying I have to pay shortage occupation fee for my application?

Dear all,

Quite happy to share that after a good one month. Decision is made and it's successful.

Hopefully, this is my last query..

Can I nominate my husband to collect the BRP and travel ?
We will travel back to the country with our BRPs later.

Do you think we could do that via an online form? Is it even possible.

Request your kind advise

Thanking in advance

Thank you ma'am.

Is it OK to leave the border before I get the BRP in my hands?

Please advise.

Thanks in advance.
