SET LR(Need Advice Please)

Hello Everyone,

First of all I would like to congratulate the team and the master minds behind this website. You have been patient listening to others needs and helping them when we are really confused, troubled with our issues. Whenever my friends or family have any doubts in regards to immigration I always visit this forum for some help and suggestions. This time I am visiting this forum again for myself. I am thinking of applying SET LR but have few glitches. I hope you will help me and advice me what to do

Came to the UK - 20/09/2009
And was on continuous visa till 23/07/2013

Left UK on 23/07/2013(last day of my visa with intention of coming back within six months as I had the offer letter for PhD but my father was diagnosed by colon cancer and I had to stay back as my went in shock. I took care of him till he had his surgery, radiation, chemo etc,)
Came back to the UK - 28/09/2014 and I am thinking whether can I apply for SET LR and what preparations I have to do. I have got all the reports of my dad when in hospital with my signature on them as I was taking care.

Please advice what is the next best thing to do
