Bringing my parents for a visit

Hi

I am a British citizen living in London
My parents are both non-EEA citizens and are based outside Europe.
I would like them to be able to visit me in the UK with minimum hassle a few times a year for short stays (a few weeks).

Should they get
-a standard visitor tourist visa? and if yes, how can they get a long term multi year one?
-or is there another kind of visa/permit (like Article 10) which would allow them to come and see my occasionally?

Yes. They also have to show strong ties to home country.

No there is not. If you live in the UK as British, you are NOT considered and EU national under the EEA/EU regulations. Only UK immigration rules apply.

They have strong ties to home country as they work there.. but is there a way they can get a 5/10 year tourist visa? and how?

What would happen if they weren't working there and got retired. Would they still be able to visit me?

Yes they have visited 2-3 times in the past few years on 6 month visas
They never had a 2 / 5/ 10 year visa.

I don't know what kind of proof /letter they need to apply for a longer visa.

No there isn't. You simply apply for whichever duration visa you want and pay the relevant fee.

Note that UKVI could still only issue a 6 month visa and there is no refund for the difference in fee.

How do I apply for longer than 6 months? I can't see any options on the form or anything...

It would have been where you selected visa type and purpose, where visit was seletec, most likely. Note, we don't have sight of the online forms.
